Special Studies Seminars
For more than two decades, the Special Studies Seminars have enhanced the Southwest educational experience by making it possible for the student body to engage with and learn from noted preachers and Bible scholars. These seminars, held three times per academic year, have brought to campus such figures as Dan Winkler (sermon crafting and delivery), Tom Holland (homiletics), Phil Sanders (postmodernism and culture), David Shannon (textual studies in the Song of Solomon), Steve Springer (biblical counseling), and Rob Whitacre (local ministry). Other topics addressed include Islam, Premillenialism, and Elements of Singing and Song Leading. These special studies greatly expand the instruction for our students, providing practical as well as academic training and helping to produce more well rounded preachers and teachers of the Gospel.
