The Southwest Faculty and Staff
A school does not exist behind ivy covered walls, nor in cloistered rooms of stone, where no professor can be found. Rather, the very soul and substance of a school is determined by the voices of those who freely and graciously impart knowledge and the voices of those who have come to study, to hear, and to learn.
This simple statement describes the learning environment found at Southwest School of Bible Studies, where the ancient texts of the Bible are opened and the seasoned voices of the Southwest faculty are freely and graciously heard some eight hours of every day. In this regard, Southwest School of Bible Studies is like the synagogue of old, literally, “a house of learning.” When Southwest students assemble themselves in the classrooms or in the chapel hall, either for a Bible class or to attend a Special Studies Seminar, the voices which they hear are from some of the most capable teachers, preachers, and Bible lecturers in the brotherhood.
The faculty of Southwest School of Bible Studies is one of the most competent to be found in any such institution. With extensive formal training, along with proven work in ministry, the Southwest faculty offers an extraordinary educational experience to every student passing through these halls. Southwest faculty members have labored in local church work; they are experienced in religious journalism having served as founding editors, editors, associate editors, staff writers, and contributors to brotherhood publications; they are regularly invited to research and prepare manuscripts for inclusion in published lectureship books and Bible commentaries; they are likewise experienced in preaching the gospel in foreign countries; they have coordinated evangelistic campaigns and directed brotherhood lectureships; they are active in multimedia efforts to share the gospel; and they are experienced directing and teaching in other faithful schools of preaching and university Bible chairs.
The full-time SWSBS program is complemented by the Christian Women's Studies (CWS) program, taught by faithful, qualified ladies who also possess both formal academic training and practical experience. The student wives and other interested ladies will find the CWS program to provide rich spiritual training in a context which fosters strong collegiality among students and their families.
