The Southwest Eldership
The Elders of the Southwest congregation are Charles Cauley, Brett Gerhardt, David Locke, and Bill Siebert, and they serve as overseers of a very active congregation. Indeed, the Southwest church is fortunate to have shepherds of high caliber. They are men of personal integrity and unimpeachable character who are active in the work of this congregation. They each have a demonstrated compassion for for all people and are deeply concerned about the needs and problems that challenge the world today. The Southwest congregation and SWSBS are blessed to have them overseeing this body of Christians.
An Invitation from the Southwest Elders Dear Brethren,
In a time when western society in particular, and the entire world in general is drifting farther and farther away from Christian morality and ethics; and in a day when the gospel has been replaced by the religions of man, the church of Christ must raise her voice in a clear yet loving tone to call people to Christ and Him crucified (2 Thess. 2:13-14). The purpose of the church today, as in days past, is to make known the manifold wisdom of God (Eph. 3:10).
As elders, we realize that the fields are “white unto harvest” and that many good, honest people are seeking to be taught God’s Word. Therefore, faithful individuals who are well prepared with a deep knowledge of the Bible text are urgently needed to sow the seed of God’s kingdom (Luke 8:11).
The Southwest church of Christ, aware of this need and understanding our responsibility to help meet it, inaugurated a full-time school of Bible study in September 1978. Since that time, a respected and learned Bible faculty has been assembled which is capable and experienced in the work of the Lord. We sincerely feel that the intensive college training offered by the Southwest School of Bible Studies will equip men and women to become outstanding workers in the kingdom.
If you are one of those committed Christians seeking to become a more effective, knowledgeable worker in the church, this opportunity is yours; now is the time! Consider prayerfully the challenge of preparing yourself for the most important task in this life.
“Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths.”
In His service,
Charles Cauley, Brett Gerhardt, David Locke, Bill Siebert
