Students from Southwest travelled on Friday to the 9th Annual Fruitvale Lectures.. Rachel Garza and McKenna Miller spoke at two women's sessions on Saturday, and our men spoke on Saturday and Sunday at 7 sessions for everyone—Cody Kilgore, Danlee Queen, Brennan Hooper, Jonathan Lopez, Scout Betz, Joshua Dugan, and Garrett English. One sister said she enjoyed every lesson so much, she wanted to hug each one of them.
As some of you know, Fruitvale's building caught fire last year and they are still in the process of rebuilding. This year, the Edgewood congregation opened their building to us. It is amazing how God can take something as horrible as arson to bring about something as pleasant as the fellowship we experienced this past week.
We thank everyone who housed us and fed us. We are grateful to the Fruitvale congregation for their continued support, and allowing Carl McCann to travel down south once a week to help teach. And we are blessed to have met the brethren at Edgewood.
It may very well become a tradition for the students to visit the huge chunk of salt pictured here. I believe they call it "salt lick"...for obvious reasons. (It is a good thing it is not a chunk of ice.)
